I was in a school. I assume college because we had a lot of freedom in where we wanted to go. I saw my friends student ID on a table. It was a very old student ID, back when she first started college. I'm not sure if that was the current setting of the dream or it was just one of her old student IDs. My friend loves talking about the past especially when she was in college. I decide I want to take a picture of it and show it to her, but by that time I was on the other side of the school. So I end up running back to the other side again to take a picture of the ID and there was a women's fitness class going on and for some reason I wanted to go in there but I don't remember the reason why. Then I wanted to try talking to the instructor but she was busy instructing. I glanced over to the participants and I see this one girl I had a sexual encounter with that did things sexually with me that my current girlfriend won't ever do to me. I loved it, but it only happened one time and ever since then she's been acting cold and distant towards me if I contact her first but if she contacts me she's more responsive but she rarely ever does that. Now it seems like she ignores me. And when I saw her in the fitness class she was in the front row. Other people in the front row looked up at me but she never did. I leave to run back to the other side of the school but I think I was going to the cafeteria. During the run back it starts raining a little so I end up getting wet. Also, during the run I ended up recalling all the encounters I had with women that I felt some connection with, mostly sexual, but fizzled out for whatever reason. I was thinking about three way everything played out up until we stopped talking. But these weren't real life situations, these were from other dreams i had. For example, one woman was real confident and assertive about being my girlfriend and i like when women do that so we ended up getting together even though that relationship dynamic wasn't what i really wanted. And it fizzled out because i woke up from that dream so nothing happened after we got together. I end up getting a plate and sat next to people I believe I knew I don't think I've ever seen them before in real life. A guy comes over to our table and picks with his food then starts to pick with my food. I didn't like that but didn't care much because I was done eating. So I get up to throw my plate away. As I'm walking to the trash can I hear someone yell out "food fight" but I didn't think anyone would participate. Then I started seeing people throw their food. I've never been in a food fight before but have always wanted to be in one. I contemplate joining in and I eventually did. I went close enough to be in throwing range of the guy who was playing in my food and started throwing Nuggets at him. The last nugget I threw felt like time slowed down for it and hit him right in his face. Once I seen that I threw my plate away and left the cafeteria before I ended up getting hit with something. As I'm leaving I'm running to my next destination. I start seeing this cop try to chase me down as if I was the one that started the food fight. He tries to grab my arm but I'm trying to tell him that I run everywhere and that I didn't start the food fight. He kept chasing me until I woke up. I woke up before knowing whether I escaped him or not.
Your dream is rich with symbols and emotional themes, reflecting a blend of nostalgia, self-exploration, and a desire for connection and validation. Let’s break it down into its various elements to provide deeper insights.
The backdrop of a college, a place of learning and social interaction, suggests a period of growth and self-discovery. In dreams, schools often symbolize a phase of your life where you are grappling with knowledge—both about the world around you and about yourself. The freedom to move around indicates that you are currently in a phase where you feel more liberated to explore your interests, desires, and relationships.
Seeing your friend’s old student ID represents nostalgia and a longing for the past, particularly for experiences or connections that may have been more straightforward. Since your friend enjoys discussing her college days, this element may signify your desire to share experiences and memories, or perhaps a longing to revisit simpler times in your relationships.
Running back to take a picture of the ID may suggest that you are pursuing connections or memories that feel significant to you. This chase implies a sense of urgency; perhaps you fear losing these connections or want to hold onto the past.
The appearance of the women’s fitness class introduces themes of self-improvement, confidence, and physicality. Since you are drawn to the instructor and the participants, this could reflect an exploration of your attraction to different types of relationships—both platonic and romantic. Your past encounter with the girl who has become distant embodies unresolved feelings and perhaps a longing for more soulful connections. The fact that she doesn't acknowledge you suggests your feelings of unreciprocated affection, reflecting insecurities that stem from past relationships.
The rain during your run may symbolize cleansing or emotional release. As you recall encounters with women from dreams where connections fizzled out, it illustrates your contemplation of how these experiences shape your current relationship dynamics. The introspection reveals a struggle with fleeting connections and a yearning for something deeper.
Sitting with unfamiliar people and experiencing a playful yet aggressive interaction (the food fight) could symbolize a desire to break free from social norms. The food fight, a chaotic yet liberating act, represents your wish to let loose and engage in spontaneous fun. This is juxtaposed against a backdrop of feeling overlooked or trivialized in social interactions, indicated by the guy picking at your food.
The officer chasing you escalates the dream's tension, with the chase symbolizing feelings of guilt, fear, or consequences for your actions—perhaps tied to feelings of inadequacy in social situations like the food fight. Your insistence that you didn’t start the fight suggests a fear of being misunderstood or blamed for the chaos in your life. The ending leaves you in suspense, mirroring unresolved feelings or situations in your waking life that you are grappling with.
Overall, this dream reflects themes of nostalgia, the complexities of relationships, a desire for connection, and an exploration of self-identity. It suggests that you might be in a transitional phase where you’re assessing past choices, desires, and social engagements. It’s a call to embrace spontaneity and connection while also acknowledging the weight of past experiences and the impact they have on your present relationships. The dream encourages you to consider how you navigate social pressures and the importance of expressing your authentic self.
